She decided to become a second wife. I don't know why exactly she's doing this, but I suppose, she wants to get "married" status in order to be independent from her family. And for her, it's good to be second wife, because the husband won't spend too much time with her, she would retain her independence in doing whatever she wants, now that the family could not prevent to be independent woman just because she's unmarried.
